Pictures

One of our amazing mountains from my plane as if flies over Oregon!
What I chose to have for breakfast at the hostel, pinto gaio. A very traditional meal for Ticos.
My bed in the hostel.

Stacey, from Winnepeg Canada. She helped organize our transportation between San Jose and Monteverde. Very fun girl!

Allison, from U of O and Amy, from Seattle Washington. Both are working with younger children and are great people.
After our lunch and mini party with Bethany, we walked up to the cheese factory where I saw this on the shelf...yes, it is exactly what is sounds. Chocolate cheese.
My host Mom does these. BY PICTURE or in her own mind. She loves to crochet, she has several magazines, but they are all in English and she works from the pictures and some diagrams! Amazing! She is really talented. The work is so delicate and precise.
This is the greenhouse at the school, in the distance you can see the small plastic containers and juice and milk cartons that are being reused to grow seedlings in the greenhouse. Milton, the person who is ingenious with plants. It is beautiful.
One of the paintings on the wall of the science classroom I am working in.
Of the many murals around the school the only building I have seen a rainbow on was on the side of the building I am working in. What are the chances?!
The ESL classroom.
The high school buildings for civics, history and english. The science building is beyond here.
Kinder and Prepa building from the bottom of the property.
From the main office. The roof belongs to the Kinder and Prepa classes, on the lower edge of the property. The day was so clear, it was amazing. You can see all the way down the hills, all the way to the pacific coast!
