Pictures from this week, and Primary forest!

The first few pictures are of the primary forest. Above 6500 ft, this was the land that wasn't cleared for pasture lands. These trees are taller, thicker, greener and all around more jungly. It was fantastic! I was a little insane up there, a little too excited to be there. The students we were with, the seven 11th graders, thought I was a little psycho. They were thinking "It is just another forest!" But what they don't understand it that it ISN'T like any other forest. They are SO lucky to be there! What a marvelous place to study ecology! I'm in love with this forest!

Cool angle on some wicked cool moss.
The teacher I am working with, Anna, posing in the deep greenery of the primary forest. Isn't it outstandingly green and thick!! It was another world up there!
Millipede!!! I love bugs!!
The "river" from a couple of days ago. It is very peaceful and the sounds were perfect to calm the craziness of life sometimes!

More later!!
